ScuolaPay
ScuolaPay is the Italian app and platform for school payments. Parents pay trips, canteen, workshops and class funds from their phone, and schools collect and reconcile every payment without queues at the office.

Who is ScuolaPay?
ScuolaPay serves Italian families, class representatives and schools, both private (paritarie) and public. It brings every school payment into one app: trip fees, canteen, workshops, textbooks, gifts for teachers and the class kitty. On the school side, an admin panel handles payment requests, deadlines and incoming funds.
What did ScuolaPay need?
School money in Italy used to move in cash, envelopes and spreadsheets. Class representatives chased parents one by one, school offices took payments at the counter and logged them by hand, and paying a public school pagoPA notice required SPID and a Pago In Rete account. The product had to work for parents with no technical background, plug into the schools’ accounting and fee management tools, and keep each user’s money in a regulated payment account, not on the platform.
What did GrowishPay deliver?
More than 170,000 users have paid through ScuolaPay, and the app holds an average rating of 4.45 on the App Store and Google Play. Schools import or sync their deadlines and incoming payments are reconciled automatically, while parents pay pagoPA notices by scanning the QR code, without SPID and without registering.

For a family
Download and top up
Download the app and top it up from a bank account. A credit card is optional.
Get the request
Receive the payment request or the class collection invite in the app.
Pay with one tap
Pay in the app, or scan the QR code of a pagoPA notice.
Keep every receipt
Receipts and the payment history stay in the app.
For a school
Open a free account
Request a free school account from the website.
Import the deadlines
Import deadlines from the fee management system or a spreadsheet (.csv, .xls, .xml), or sync them through the SYNC module via SOAP or REST API.
Send the notices
Send payment notices to parents in the app, or by email and SMS with bank transfer or card.
Reconcile automatically
See who paid by class and let reconciliation register incoming funds in the accounting software.
In our technical solution, we used:
MangoPay: the European e-money institution that holds each user’s payment account and processes in-app payments.
pagoPA: Italy’s public payment system, used so families can pay school notices from the app, with the service provided through Flowpay and Buffetti Finance.
Amazon Web Services: dedicated EC2 servers in the Frankfurt region (eu-central-1) for development and production.
Node.js and Docker: the API and web platforms run on Node.js, and newer services ship as Docker containers.
Salesforce: the CRM behind ScuolaPay’s relationships with schools and partners.
