PAAV B2B & B2C
PAAV is the payment platform of Stant Up, Italy’s leading utility tech company, which runs outsourced services for energy resellers. Utilities use it to collect bills by SEPA Direct Debit straight from their billing systems, and consumers get an account with an IBAN that turns recurring bills into one monthly payment.
About this project
Who is PAAV?
Stant Up (Stantup Service Srl) has worked with Italian energy resellers for about ten years, handling energy and gas procurement, collections, credit and regulatory work on their behalf. Collections were running on a third-party provider: the service didn’t carry Stant Up’s name and left no direct margin. With PAAV, Stant Up launched its own payment brand, operating as an agent of Treezor, the regulated e-money institution that holds the accounts and processes the payments.
What did PAAV need?
Resellers bill thousands of households every month, and they do it from their own billing software and CRMs. They weren’t going to switch tools, so the platform had to take mandates and direct debits through APIs, keep them in sync with outcomes and returns, and still give back-office staff a clear web view. Mandates are signed offline in the reseller’s own contracts, so the platform had to register them without asking for documents. On the consumer side, Stant Up wanted something unusual: B2B and B2C on the same platform, with an account where people stop chasing bills one by one and pay a single planned amount each month.
What did GrowishPay deliver?
GrowishPay built PAAV from scratch on Treezor, starting from one constraint: resellers were not going to change tools. PAAV plugs straight into their billing software and CRMs through a REST API with OAuth credentials. Debtors, mandates and SEPA direct debits start from the reseller’s own system, one call per invoice. Payments, returns and failed debits flow back into the same systems automatically, with no exports or manual uploads. Alongside the API, a single web app serves resellers, consumers and the Stant Up super admin, and background jobs handle bulk operations. The B2B side has been live since September 2025, and several external billing and CRM systems already exchange data with PAAV.

How PAAV works
For an energy reseller
Onboarding
Stant Up onboards the reseller with a KYB check on Treezor, and the reseller receives web access and API credentials.
Direct debits via API
The reseller’s billing system creates debtors, mandates and direct debits through the PAAV API, one call per invoice.
Outcomes in real time
Payments, returns and failed debits flow back to the reseller’s systems through the API and show up in the web app.
Treasury from the web app
The team checks balances and statements, exports reports and sends outgoing transfers, one at a time or in bulk.
Several external billing and CRM systems already exchange collections and returns with PAAV through the API.
For a consumer
Digital account opening
The user opens an account with an IBAN after a fully digital KYC, with ID check and liveness.
Everyday payments
They send money to other PAAV users by phone number, or by standard or instant SEPA transfer.
PAAV Bills
With one button the platform opens a dedicated collection account and signs an SDD mandate in favour of Stant Up.
One monthly instalment
The user uploads their bills, Stant Up sets the monthly amount, and PAAV collects it by direct debit on the chosen day.
In our technical solution, we used:
Treezor: the Société Générale group’s Banking-as-a-Service platform and regulated e-money institution, used for accounts, IBANs, KYC/KYB, SEPA Direct Debit and transfers.
GrowishPay Treezor Connector SDK: our own Node.js connector to the Treezor APIs, shared across GrowishPay projects, so every new build starts from code that already runs in production.
React and TypeScript: one responsive web app for resellers, consumers and the super admin, with Strong Customer Authentication on sensitive actions.
Node.js and MongoDB: the API that resellers’ systems call with OAuth credentials, plus a job worker for bulk direct debits, bulk transfers, statements and monthly bill collection.
AWS: everything runs in Docker containers on the client’s own cloud infrastructure.
GrowishPay OrchestrationCore Suite: our modular platform for Treezor-based solutions. OrchestrationCore orchestrates transactions and flows, PricingCore manages plans, fees and business rules, SentinelCore monitors transactions in real time, GrowthCore runs referral and incentive programmes, ComplianceCore keeps the audit trail and compliance reports, and AICore lets teams ask their data in plain language.
